In the last years, Francesco Pio Galasso has been reassuring himself in the big roles of the operatic repertoire such as Calaf, Mario Cavaradossi, or Don Jose.

Recently has debuted with great success the title role in Don Carlo with Angela Meade, Ferruccio Furlanetto and Carlos Álvarez in the A Coruña Opera Festival.

He has been a special guest of soprano Anna Netrebko at her 50' Anniversary Gala at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg conducted by Maestro Valery Gergiev. 

Among his repertoire, he has sung numerous roles like Manrico, Pollione, Rodolfo, Romeo, Alfredo, Duca di Mantova, Pinkerton, Ismaele, Licinius in La Vestale, Paco in Falla ́s La Vida Breve, etc.

He has also participated in a big number of concerts and recitals in very important venues in Europe and Asia with great artists as Placido Domingo, Saioa Hernandez, Ambrogio Maestri, Barbara Frittoli or Ainhoa Arteta.

He sang also oratory like the Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle and participated in concerts and galas with the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra and Chorus in Madrid, in collaboration with the Korean embassy and broadcast on Spanish Television. Was also specially invited to sing at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid for the New Year Concert.

He will soon make his role debut of Des Grieux in Davide Livermore ́s production of Manon Lescaut at Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova. Furthermore, he will sing for the first time in Gran Teatro del Liceo de Barcelona, Teatro dell ́Opera di Roma, Deutsche Oper Berlin and in Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon.

During his career he has sung in main theaters in Europe such as Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Bolshoi in Moscow, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Fondazione Arena di Verona, Hungarian State Opera, Teatro Verdi di Salerno, Teatro de La Zarzuela in Madrid, Teatro Euskalduna in Bilbao... and with maestros such as Oren, Valcûha, Gómez- Martínez, Battistoni, Tourniaire, Ciampa, Mastrangelo, Reynoso, Palumbo... Stage directors such as Ronconi, Del Monaco, Pizzi, Muscato, Sagi, Pontiggia, Vesperini...

He made his opera debut in Italy as Arlecchino from I Pagliacci opposite Giuseppe Giacomini.

 

Francesco Pio Galasso studied classic guitar before starting his singing studies with Maestras Rosa Ricciotti and Amelia Felle. Subsequently, perfected his technique with Montserrat Caballé and Giuseppe Giacomini.
